Emily Joyce and Country singer/songwriter legend Dwight Yoakam at the LA Premiere of ‘The Judge.’ The pair began dating in 2010, and finally got engaged six years later in 2016. The music icon and the professional photographer tied the knot in Mar. 2020, but by then the coronavirus outbreak was causing limits on how many people could gather in one location. In the L.A. area, it was down to 10 people or less. As a result, the couple had a social distancing wedding.
The ‘Guitars and Cadillacs’ singer’s team waited to announce the nuptials on May 4, 2020 via Instagram. Next to two photos of the couple in their wedding day attire, the caption read, “Dwight Yoakam and Emily Joyce were married in March just prior to the quarantine in a private ceremony at St Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, CA. At a time when there is so much uncertainty in the world, there are still happy moments.’
It continued, ‘In the face of shutdowns and social-distancing requirements, love prevailed, and the less than ten attendees were seated at least six feet from one another. The happy couple have been engaged for several years and have been dating since 2010. This belated announcement was withheld out of respect to so many people affected by and on the front lines of this pandemic.’
