The new series explores the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of rebellious young poet Emily Dickinson, who was mostly unpublished during her life. ‘Dickinson’ is set in the 19th century, but Alena Smith has written and created a coming-of-age story that makes Emily Dickinson the perfect heroine for this millennial generation. Hailee stars as Emily Dickinson. Anna and Adrian play her siblings, Lavinia and Austin. Jane and Toby play Emily’s parents. Ella stars as Sue, Emily’s closest friend and lover who marries Austin.
