Clooney Foundation 2022 Albie Awards: Photos — George Clooney and wife Amal hosted the very first Clooney Foundation awards gala on Sep. 29, 2022. The innagural Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Albie Awards honored courageous defenders of justice at great risk for what they do. The honor was named after Justice Albie Sachs, who was revered for his commitment to ending apartheid in South Africa.

The Clooneys explained, “We believe that justice must be waged — it doesn’t just happen. So when journalists are locked up just for doing their job, we try to get them out of prison. When young girls are denied the right to study, work, or marry when they want, we help them fight for their rights through the courts. When minorities are targeted for genocide, we help trigger trials against the perpetrators.”

The duo was dressed to the nines for the event, which took place at the New York Public Library on Thursday night. George was eternally dapper wearing a fun teal take on the classic tuxedo. Keeping the effortlessly handsome look, he left some salt and pepper stubble across his jawline. Meanwhile, Amal embraced 20s glamour in a beaded silver and gold gown and fluffy curls. She completed the look with her signature red lip.
