The ‘sweetest thing’ in Bono’s life is his marriage to Ali Hewson. As this Irish power couple celebrates their ongoing romance, get to know more about Bono’s wife. ‘It was 1976 that we got together – the same year that the band formed. I saw their first gig, in our school gym,’ she said in an interview. Since then, Bono has become one of the biggest rockstars on the planet, and Ali has become one of the biggest activists. After getting involved in anti-nuclear efforts in the 1990s, following the Chernobyl crisis, Ali has raised funds for the children survivors of the nuclear plant catastrophe while fighting against nuclear proliferation in Europe. She has also worked with many different charitable efforts in Africa, which has led her to co-found two fair-trade based beauty/fashion companies. In between their busy lives, Bono and Ali started a family, giving birth to four beautiful children.
