Daughter to politician Nancy Pelosi, Alexandra Pelosi has been in the spotlight for some time – and not just because of her family name. For almost two decades, Pelosi has been producing films on American politics, society and more. A native of San Francisco, California, Pelosi began her career by spending10 years as a field producer for NBC news. She covered a great deal of the 2000 presidential election involving George Bush, and debuted her film-making talents with her documentary “Journeys With George”, which beautifully depicted Bush’s road to the white house on film. After the hype and buzz which circulated from that documentary, Pelosi took leave from CNN HBO and began focusing solely on documentaries. Soon after, her 2004 film ‘Diaries of a Political Tourist’ came out based on the 2004 Democratic primaries, and her film success only just increased from there – and rapidly.

Now, she is celebrating the release of her latest documentary, ‘American Selfie’, premiering October 23, 2020 on ShowTime. In an exclusive interview with HollywoodLife, she opened up on the film’s production and her experience creating her latest project. (Photo by Victoria Will/Invision/AP Images)
