21 Savage was born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph on October 22, 1992 in London, England. As a young child, the future star moved to Atlanta, Georgia. As a teen, he began rapping and eventually gained buzz for a 2015 mixtape, which led to his first-ever EP Savage Mode with producer Metro Boomin the following year.
In 2017, the rapper shot to stardom after a guest version on Post Malone’s Grammy-nominated track “Rockstar.” That same year, Savage released his debut studio record, Issa Album.
The rapper has faced legal issues around the issue of his citizenship. Despite having moved to the United States at a young age, the rapper only hold British citizenship, which led to him facing deportation.
