Elite athletes from around the country will be competing to become the new American Ninja Warrior champion. Season 14 will premiere June 6 at 8 p.m. on NBC. The competitors will take on the intense obstacle courses in hopes of completing them and moving on to the national finals.
One of the competitors of season 14 is Lilah Nathison. Lilah is one of the youngest contestants of the new season. She’s only 15 years old! HollywoodLife has rounded up 5 key things to know about the competitor.
Prior to season 13, competitors like Lilah would not have been able to compete on American Ninja Warrior. The age requirement was lowered from 19 to 15 years ahead of season 13. This lowered age requirement was kept for season 14. At just 15, Lilah is one of the kids competing for the top prize of $1 million.
Lilah hasn’t been training to be a ninja for that long. Lilah began her training on October 22, 2021. She keeps a photo of herself in the gym that day on her phone, she told The News & Observer. She started attending open gyms and classes at a ninja warrior training gym and later entered local and elite-level ninja competitions.
Lilah initially started ninja training for fun, believing it would be a “physical and mental outlet” for her ADHD. “With ninja, it’s made my ADHD feels like a strength and not a weakness, like everywhere else,” the 15-year-old told The News & Observer. “I can use it to my advantage.”
Lilah lives in the small town of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. She traveled all the way to San Antonio in March 2022 to compete in the qualifiers.
Lilah’s nickname is “L Grizz.” She earned the nickname because of her “grizzly, fearless demeanor when approaching obstacles,” according to WRAL.com.
