Tyler Christopher is being remembered by his friends in soap opera acting following his tragic death at the age of 50. Tyler was best known for his series regular roles on General Hospital (from 1996 to 2016) and Days of Our Lives (from 2017 to 2019), and many stars from both shows took to social media to honor Tyler after learning about his passing on October 31. Maurice Benard, who was on General Hospital with Tyler, was the first soap actor to speak out about Tyler’s death on Instagram.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher,” Maurice wrote, alongside two photos of the late star. “Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment. “Tyler was a truly talented individual that lit up the screen in every scene he performed and relished bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting,” he added. “Tyler was a sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him.”

Daniel Goddard from The Young and the Restless honored Tyler picture with a picture of the late actor when he won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2016. “Rest in Peace Tyler #gonetoosoon,” Daniel wrote.
Jacob Young, who worked with Tyler on General Hospital, posted a partial screenshot of Daniel’s picture of Tyler and shared it to his Instagram. Jacob did not include a caption in his tribute.
Rebecca Buding, who played Hayden Barnes on General Hospital, said on Instagram she was “gut punched” by Tyler’s death. “Sweet Tyler,” she added in her tribute, which included a selfie of the pair. “I only worked with him briefly but his kindness left its mark. We had many talks about his kids whom he loved so dearly. Praying for them and his family. May he rest in peace.”

Sean Kanan, one of Tyler’s many co-stars on General Hospital, reacted to the tragic death on Twitter. “Stunned to hear that Tyler Christopher passed away. I have no words. RIP my friend,” Sean wrote.
Kin Shriner, who plays Scott Baldwin on General Hospital, called Tyler “a huge talent” in his tribute to the late actor. “I had the pleasure of working with him a few months ago as well as the fun times,” he said on Twitter.
Lisa LoCicero, who has been on General Hospital since 2008, posted a picture of her and Tyler on Instagram with an emotional caption. “Our hearts just keep getting broken.. He always made me laugh.. Rest in peace Tyler..,” she wrote.
Alyssa Milano, who worked with Tyler when he guest starred on an episode of her series Charmed, honored Tyler on Instagram. “It feels like the world is caving in. Tyler Christopher has passed away. He was a wonderful actor and so good in the Charmed episode “Pardon My Past”. I remember him as being a sweet, sweet, soul. May he rest in peace. My condolences to his friends and family.
Brandon Barash, who was on General Hospital with Tyler, and also replaced him on Days of Our Lives, reacted to Tyler’s death on his Instagram Stories. “Rest in strength and peace, friend,” he wrote, with three broken heart emojis.
