The Adam Project follows Reynolds, who will star as a man who travels back in time to seek help from his 13-year-old self. Eventually, they discover their late father, (Ruffalo, a brilliant physicist), who is now the same age as Reynolds. Garner will play the boy’s mother, while Saldana will portray his the adult character’s wife, a fighter pilot. Additionally, two-time Oscar nominee Catherine Keener is set to play the villain of The Adam Project, who stole technology from Ruffalo’s character. Earlier this year, Garner and Ruffalo celebrated the 16th anniversary of 13 Going On 30 — a beloved film that’s still aired on cable television today. In April, Ruffalo took to Twitter with a throwback photo of the on-screen couple in the 2004 film.

“Happy Anniversary to 13 Going on 30 today!” he wrote alongside a snap of the final scene from the film, which shows his and Garner’s characters eating Razzles candy (a staple in the movie). “Remember what the world was like when Razzles were all the rage? Missing that time,” Ruffalo continued, while reminiscing on simpler times.

Last year, for the 15th anniversary of 13 Going on 30, Jennifer shut down rumors of a sequel. “What, like 15 Going on 50,” she joked during an appearance on Good Morning America, adding, “Let’s simmer down.”
