‘The Price Of Fame’ Reveals Prince’s Deep Struggle With Personal Demons

Prince was 57 years old when he passed away on April 21, 2016, and now REELZ’s The Price of Fame is taking a look at his life, career and ultimate demise. In this EXCLUSIVE preview provided to HollywoodLife, Prince’s struggle with his music, his relationships and more are highlighted. “He used pain and channeled it into music as a way to cope with everything that was going on with his life,” one expert explains. Another reveals that there were “rumors of child abuse” from Prince’s childhood. One scene shows a dramatization of an actor portraying Prince as he collapses in the music studio with his band standing in the background. Sadly the clip alleges that despite Prince’s incredible talent, success and luck with women, he was still struggling with his inner demons through it all.

Here’s the full synopsis for the episode, which focuses on the music icon: Few artists compare to the talent and mystery of Prince. From smash hits including “Purple Rain” and “Let’s Go Crazy”, to his legendary performance at the Super Bowl in 2007, the only thing that could stop one of our greatest musical gifts, was prescription drugs. Known for his overt sexuality and performing prowess, the painfully shy artist spent much of his career secluded from the public eye and battling his record company over music rights. But the REELZ series says that after the death of his newborn son and a double hip replacement, the pain of it all caught up to him. He was found dead in his home from of an overdose of the opioid pain-killer, fentanyl, in 2016.
