Katherine Heigl, 38, introduced her baby son to the world on Jan. 25 after appearing on the cover of People magazine cradling her third bundle of joy. The little guy, named Joshua Bishop Kelley, is Katherine and her husband Josh Kelleyās, 36, first biological child, and he was born on Dec. 20. Keeping on trend with most celeb moms recently, Katherine opened up about her changing body, and how itās affected her postpartum.
āI gained about 40 pounds,ā Katherine, who delivered Joshua via C-section told People. And although that amount of weight gain actually falls within doctorās recommended amount, it was still challenging for her to deal with ā and still is! āThatās hard for an actress whoās spent her life trying to lose that last 10,ā the star continued. āBut Iām grateful for my body right now, because I feel like itās doing what it needs to do.ā We LOVE her honesty!

Another body challenge the Greyās Anatomy alum faced with her first-time pregnancy was breastfeeding. āYou think, āEvery mammal on earth has to breastfeed. Iāll be fine, right?ā But it was a little complicated,ā Katherine explained. āAnd my boobs just got so ginormous, it was horrifying!ā Another scary thing for the blonde beauty was her āemotional highs and lowsā postpartum.
āOne minute youāre weirdly obsessed with this baby, like āDonāt take him out of my sight,ā and the next youāre kind of blue, youāre a little sad and a little freaked out,ā Katherine revealed. āI actually prefer the adoption way because I wasnāt subject to hormones.ā Katherine and Josh adopted their two older kids, daughters Naleigh, 8, and Adalaide, 4.
But despite the challenges Katherine faced with pregnancy, sheās already thinking about adding to her family! āI still want more children,ā the star gushed. āIād get pregnant again, and I still am very inspired by adoption. I also have been thinking a lot about fostering. Itās all up in the air.ā
