Jake went on the run, literally, in O.J. Simpson-style. Basically, all he needed was a white Bronco. At his arraignment, the DA went hard on Jake. He said Jake was irrational. From Jake’s reaction to that, he kind of was. Thankfully, Bradley was calm, cool, and collected. The judge set a $10 million bail. Bradley emptied out his retirement account for Jake to get him out of jail. The brothers immediately went to examine the murder weapon.
Jake and Bradley got their team together to find out who killed Sarah once and for all. With the media everywhere, Jake needed a place to crash. He showed up at Julia’s door.
Julia admitted she was worried about Jake when she saw him in court. There was a moment where they both stopped talking, their connection not needing any words. Julia was all dolled up and Jake figured out that she was going out with the DA. At dinner, he agreed to give her exclusive access to him and his team.
Bradley met with the passport forger, and he revealed some very important information about Sarah. Before taking her passport photo, she was on the phone with someone and sounded scared. She told a man named Brian to stay away. “You’ll never hurt me again,” the forger overheard Sarah say.
Max’s forensic psychologist went on Louise Herrick Live and speculated that Sarah had borderline personality disorder. In the middle of the interview, Julia was tipped off to a 911 call. The woman pleading for help wasn’t identifiable but she was terrified Jake Gregorian was going to hurt her. Jake explained the phone call when Julia got home. It was his ex-girlfriend Carmen. She got really upset when he broke things off. The night she’d made the call, she’d slashed his tires and said she was going to kill herself. He went over to help.
After doing into some digging into Sarah’s relationship with a loan shark, Jake called her brother to Julia’s house. Jake demanded Alan explain everything about the loan shark and the gambling. Alan flipped and stormed off. Meanwhile, Julia told Max that their deal was off. When it came to choosing between him and Jake, Jake won. Max truly believed Jake killed Sarah. He told Julia that Jake was obsessed with Sarah, and she couldn’t deny the evidence was adding up. Sarah was trying to leave the country, but Max alleged she was trying to get away from JAKE.
Ella discovered that Sarah had wired $100,000 to a man named Brian a month before his death. Jake was determined to find out who this guy was, and he was willing to risk everything to do so. As Louise and Megan were lecturing Julia about Jake, Max called said that Jake was on the run. The car stopped at the warehouse district. Bradley got out of the car. No sign of Jake. The back door opened and it was Ella with Jake’s ankle bracelet.
Jake was on his way to see Brian to find out his connection to Sarah. He met Brian’s wife and daughter Zoe. The girl looked exactly like Sarah. When Jake confronted Brian about Sarah, Brian pulled a gun on Jake. Jake didn’t want any trouble, he just wanted answers. Brian confessed the money was for Zoe, since she was Sarah’s biological father. As Jake was leaving, he took Zoe’s juice box from the trash.
Julia met with Jake before he turned himself in. Before they headed to see Max, Jake asked Julia to do a DNA test. He had to find out if he was Zoe’s father. Julia got the results back ASAP, and he wasn’t the father. Zoe’s father was Sarah’s brother! Now they just needed proof that Alan killed Sarah. Julia went to Max for help with that. She called Alan to the station to confront him. As Jake was looking through records, specifically at a casino Alan had visited, he realized that Alan maybe hadn’t killed Sarah after all.
Jake went to Silverlight casino and found Oscar there waiting. Jake figured out that Sarah had never called Oscar before her death. Alan and Oscar were at the Silverlight on the same night. Jake concluded that Alan told Oscar that Sarah was leaving him. Oscar offered to pay off Alan’s debts if he killed Sarah. Oscar didn’t deny any of it. But Jake couldn’t say anything because of their attorney-client privilege. Jake had been wired the whole time, but it wasn’t enough to arrest him. Jake had cocaine planted in Oscar’s car just to get him arrested. Oscar, you’re going down.
