Hillary Clinton Disses Donald Trump’s Tax Plan: It’s ‘Trumped Up Trickle Down’ To Help Rich

Hillary Clinton somehow found a way to make a pun out of Donald Trump’s tax plan, and it’s as hilarious as it is on-point. Not once but twice, Hillary called Donald’s plan to give tax breaks to the rich a ‘Trumped Up Trickle Down’ plan, and the internet is loving it.

Hillary Clinton, 68, is Donald Trump’s polar opposite when it comes to the economy. When asked why her tax plan is better than Donald’s at the first presidential debate on Sept. 26, she gave a brilliant answer, and an unexpected pun! “We need a tax system that rewards work and not just financial transactions, and the kind of plan that Donald has put forth would be trickle down economics all over again,” she explained. “In fact, it would be the most extreme version, the biggest tax cuts for the top percents of people in this country that we’ve ever had! I call it ‘Trumped up trickle down’ , because that’s exactly what it would be. That is not how we grow the economy.” SLAY!

Hillary was clearly proud of the statement, even pausing momentarily for dramatic effect. Meanwhile, Donald looked thrown for a loop, making a confused face. When he got the chance to answer, he said that he was actually “very proud of his tax cuts,” for the wealthiest Americans.

Hil definitely wanted to get the most out of her pun, so she made it again later on in the CNN debate. After that, #TrumpedUpTrickleDown became the hashtag of the night on Twitter, with fans obsessing over her clever quip. It was definitely one of the most memorable moments of the first presidential debate, and we can’t wait to hear what else she comes up with.
