Uh-oh. It seems that the Carey siblings have resorted to slamming each other in the news! Morgan, 51, got candid during his vacation in Florence, Italy on Sept. 1, revealing that 46-year-old Mariah hasn’t been the biggest support system in their family, especially during the recent crisis concerning their sister, Alison, 55. “Mariah doesn’t care about anyone other than herself, and it’s always been that way,” Morgan told Inside Edition. Ouch!
Although Mariah has earned a reputation for being a diva in the past, this is still a harsh claim to make about your sister. “There wouldn’t be a Mariah Carey today if it hadn’t been for me,” Morgan added, noting his contributions to Mariah’s nearly 30-year career. In the interview, Morgan went on to explain how he hasn’t spoken to his sister in over six years following a “nasty rift that tore them apart,” according to IE. While Morgan seems to be willing to reconcile, he admits that he’s still upset with the “Fantasy” singer for her refusal to help Alison, even after her latest downfall.

Alison, who is HIV-positive, was recently arrested in Aug. 2016 on prostitute charges after she was caught performing a sexual act in a motel in Upstate New York. She pleaded “not guilty” to the charges on Sept. 1, although the judge has not made a ruling in her case yet. Her ongoing case joins a long list of prostitution charges and incidents over the years. Alison has often taken to the media to ask Mariah for help, many of her pleas have reportedly gone unanswered.
Mariah’s team, however, has refuted those claims, stating that Mariah has made many efforts to help her older sister over the years with no luck. “Through the years, Mariah has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting Alison and her children,” Mariah’s official statement read.
But Morgan wasn’t buying it. He criticized Mariah’s efforts for being senseless. “I will always be puzzled why Alison, a heroin addict, has always been given large sums of money from Mariah her whole life,” Morgan said. “You can’t put large sums of cash into the hands of a drug addict.”
But despite his own frustrations, he says he hopes his little sister might be willing to extend a helping hand. “I would hope Mariah could find it in her heart to forgive Alison her transgressions and step up, create a trust, let’s make sure Alison’s needs are met.” We hope this family can work out their differences and come up with a solution that will work for all of them.
