If you ever had any concerns about the authenticity of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson‘s relationship, her new interview with T magazine will answer a few of those lingering questions in the back of your mind. Kristen, 26, explained that now that she’s dating girls, she sees the massive difference between her relationships now and what she thought her relationship was with Rob, 30, back during the Twilight days. This is crazy!
“People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn’t real life anymore,” Kristen explained. “And that was gross to me. It’s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I’m doing in my life. It’s that I don’t want to become a part of a story for entertainment value.” Ouch.
It’s great that Kristen is finally opening up about her longtime romance with Rob and how it fizzled out over time, though many of their diehard Twilight fans might be devastated to learn that the relationship may not have been as authentic as it seemed at times. However, it must be a huge relief to Kristen to finally get this off of her shoulders as their romance is still such a hot topic — even now despite the fact she’s been dating Alicia Cargile on-and-off for three years.
“I would never talk about any of my relationships before, but once I started dating girls it seemed like there was an opportunity to represent something really positive,” Kristen further explained. “I still want to protect my personal life, but I don’t want to seem like I’m protecting the idea, so that does sort of feel like I owe something to people.”
