He’s gotta protect the fam! Retired NBA star Kobe Bryant now has plenty of free time, and in a video filmed by his wife Vanessa, we can see him chasing a wild bird around his mansion’s living room. WATCH!

Kobe Bryant, 37, ain’t afraid of no bird. In a funny video filmed by Vanessa Bryant, 34, the former Los Angeles Lakers star is determined to chase a bird out of his house in Newport Beach, CA, while his family cheers him on. Take a look!

In the video obtained by TMZ, Vanessa offers her support as her husband chases a hummingbird around the living room with a broom. “Come on, babe, you’ve still got hops — you can get it,” she says. Kobe’s distracted answer is unintelligible, but contains an expletive. Look, expelling wild animals from one’s home is hard work. “Dad, just smush it!” a child (presumably one of the Bryants’ daughters) suggests. WATCH:

When Kobe starts really going for the bird, Vanessa steps in. “Don’t kill the poor thing…we’re going to call Animal Control for a hummingbird? Are you freaking kidding? Go grab the pool net.” HA!

When he’s not chasing birds, Kobe is busy making more babies with Vanessa. The couple announced via Instagram on July 12 that she’s pregnant once again, posting a sweet snap of a white onesie with the words “Baby Mamba” and a pair of tiny red and black sneakers. “Beyond blessed and excited to share that we are expecting our third baby girl!!! #Blessed #BabyMamba#Thankful” she captioned the pic. Ah, so adorable. The new baby will be a little sister to Natalia, 13, and Gianna, 10. Congrats to the family!
