Now that the scorchin’ summer heat is here, coffee-drinkers who fancy a cool beverage to quench their thirst have found a new blend which has already taken the internet by storm. The “Purple Drink” as people are calling it, is exclusively found at Starbucks and is made with a few select ingredients. Curious to what they are? We’re spilling all the details about the colorful fuse below!
So, the hush-hush mix for the perfect summer concoction is none other than passion iced tea over ice, mixed with soy milk, blackberries and vanilla syrup. This comes shortly after Starbucks was praised for a similar beverage that was coined the “Pink Drink,” which was comprised of the standard strawberry acai refresher with coconut milk — instead of water. You’re welcome! It’s a battle of the blends for many beverage enthusiasts, but for now the “Purple Drink” is taking precedence with it’s flashy new vibe. Cosmopolitan even termed the drink the “cool older sister,” so you know it’s gotta be good.
Starbucks fans have even posted their favorite photos of the enticing combination, taking to their Instagram feeds to the coffee-house’s page with 9.5 million followers. While many drinks match the photo seen in the model pic, sometimes the mix takes on a dark pink color rather than the light purple color people expect.
It’s all about tweaking the ingredients ever so slightly to find out what you need more or less of to get the desired tone. Most have been pretty successful in their venture, however, and they are absolutely loving the recipe as the perfect way to fight the heat wave. Don’t just take our word for it, check out the massive fan response below!
