Britney Spears, 34, hasn’t looked this good since her “I’m A Slave 4 U” days. The mom of two, who’s currently killing it in Vegas with her Piece Of Me show, is seriously fit and seriously dedicated to her workouts. Getting an intense workout on stage each night, Britney’s offstage routine is something we can all take notes on.
Ahead of her Vegas residency, and even now after becoming a veteran performer at Planet Hollywood, Brit put in work with personal trainer, Tony Martinez. But the trainer, whose motto is “Work out smarter, not longer,” doesn’t require lengthy gym sessions and expensive equipment.
Instead, Tony, who also works with Janet Jackson and Pink, requires just 40-minute workouts of Britney, three to four times each week, according to the Daily Mail. In addition to running (which he has Britney do backwards), Brit’s workouts also include a lot of ab exercises.
“She loves all core workouts. She’s a very tenacious woman. She wants to get it done and get it done right,” he said. On his Instagram, Tony shows off one of the ab workouts he developed, using a foam roller. Resting your elbows on a foam roller, Tony says to hold your body in a plank position for 30 to 60-seconds, then, holding the plank position, bring your knee to your elbow and alternate each side 10 times. For a full ab workout, Tony says to repeat the routine three times without resting in between.
When it comes to her diet, while Bri definitely tries to eat clean, according to US Weekly, she does still indulge. According to the mag, she “still eats fast food,” but fuels her workouts with healthy meals like egg whites and wheat toast. When she needs something to snack on throughout the day, the mag says she goes for “any kind of fruit, especially peaches.”
