Us Shadowhunters fans are losing our collective minds following the season 1 finale on April 5! Sooo much happened in just one little episode, and we’re still trying to gather ourselves. Basically, Clary (Katherine McNamara) finally saved her mom Jocelyn (Maxim Roy), Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) and Alec (Matthew Daddario) had some major drama and Jace (Dominic Sherwood) went AWOL and joined the evil Valentine (Alan Van Sprang)! Here’s what went down.
Phew. That was intense. Let’s start with Jace, who is clearly losing it. Clary’s former-love-interest-turned-brother goes rogue and cuts off Hodge’s hand after he realizes he’s the one who attacked Lydia and hunts him down. He then kidnaps him and uses him to find Valentine, which doesn’t quite work out. Instead, Valentine finds his friends and prepares to kill them all in front of Jace! Then, Jace agrees to leave with him, and stands by his side while he starts his world domination! Oh nooo.
Meanwhile, Clary is on the hunt for the Book of White so she can save her mom. To get the book, she breaks Camille out of where the vamps have her jailed. She brings them to Magnus so that Simon can pardon her for attacking him. However, she also throws a wrench into our Malec dreams by kissing the warlock in front of Alec! Eww. Luckily, they talk it out and it’s all okay.
However, Camille isn’t particularly helpful in getting the book. She admits she owns it, but doesn’t know where it is. Finally, Clary finds that it’s disguised as her mom’s favorite cookbook. The second she gets it is when Valentine shows up. He chooses to let her leave with the book though, because he’s convinced that she and Jocelyn will join him too, eventually. Uh, no way dude. Finally, Clary wakes her mom up once and for all, and it’s so sweet! Plus, her romantic reunion with Luke? Dead. Died. How the heck are we going to wait until 2017 to see what happens next?!
