‘Bachelorette’ Caila Quinn Was Dumped By ABC For Jojo Fletcher: Here’s Why

Well, this is awkward! We were so sure that Caila Quinn was going to be ABC’s next Bachelorette, so we were floored when they announced on the Mar. 14 finale that it would be Jojo Fletcher – Ben Higgins’ runner up – instead! Here’s what went down.

The most shocking part of the Bachelor finale on Mar. 14 wasn’t the winner, it was the new Bachelorette! All signs have been pointing to Caila Quinn for weeks, but on the After The Final Rose special, it was Jojo Fletcher that was named. So what happened? We have all the details, here.

Poor Caila got shafted for The Bachelorette. The woman who came in third place in Ben Higgins’ heart seemed to be the front runner for the 12th season of the show. On Mar. 2, reports surfaced that the competition was between Caila and Amanda, but it soon became clear that Caila had been tapped when camera crews were seen filming her in locations around her home town in Ohio on Mar. 4.

If that isn’t enough to convince you, another report said that Caila was the official bachelorette and casting has already started on Mar. 9. However, it seems like fan outcry on Twitter may have changed producers’ mind. Jojo quickly became a fan favorite for her down to earth attitude, and fans figured if she can’t be Ben’s wife, she should at least get another shot. Clearly ABC took notice.

During the Mar. 14 finale of The Bachelor, Jojo seemed to be lingering on stage for a very long time. Chris Harrison welcomed the next bachelorette to the stage with his arm open in the opposite direction before pulling the ol’ switcheroo and pointing to Jojo. We couldn’t be happier that Jojo is getting a second chance at love, but we are heartbroken for Caila.

HollywoodLifers – are you glad that Jojo is the next Bachelorette or would you have rather seen Caila? Let us know!
