This is so touching. Mob Wives star Drita D’Avanzo dropped everything to be by Big Ang‘s deathbed on Feb. 18. A report claims that she was there at the hospital when she died in Staten Island surrounded by family and friends.
“Drita was at the hospital along with Ang’s family as she passed,” a source tells Page Six. “Everyone will drop their differences to remember Big Ang.” HollywoodLife.com spoke to an insider who tells us that there were 60 people at the hospital when Ang died. HollywoodLife.com has the first to learn that two memorials will be held for the reality star at Scarpaci Funeral Home in Brooklyn. One on Feb. 20 and another the following day. We’ve also learned that her funeral will be held on Monday Feb. 22 at Basilica of Regina Pacis in Brooklyn at 9:30am. She will be buried in Staten Island at the Resurrection Cemetery.
HollywoodLife.com spoke with Ang’s Mob Wives co-star Marissa Jade who is devastated over her friend’s passing. “I was extremely shocked [over her death],” she told us. “We knew she was going through a lot … cancer came, cancer went. Then she was good for a month. Then she went back and it just attacked her again. She had to go on chemo and it wasn’t working. We are just as shocked as everyone. She went from being okay to really bad … The girls went to go see her a few days ago and she was in good spirits and they all said Ang was laughing for what it was they had a good time with her. I had a great time working with her I wish I got to know her more, she’s a great person, fun-loving I could only wish to spend more time with her. It’s very sad.”
Mob Wives star Carla Facciolo touchingly told us moments after Ang passed away:”All I can say is She was bigger than life and I will truly miss her! All our hearts are broken but I know she will rule the gates of heaven the Big Ang way … May she rest in peace.” We also spoke with Mob Wives creator, Jennifer Graziano who released this statement to HollywoodLife.com: “I am saddened to say that At 3:01 am Ang lost her battle with cancer,” Jennifer told us. “She passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family. My heart is broken for her whole family – especially her children and grandchildren and I will never forget her. Her presence brought sheer happiness to anyone that was around her and I am honored to have called her a friend. Please respect her family’s privacy at this time as they mourn the loss of such an amazing woman.”
