Denise Richards, 44, isn’t surprised by the news that her ex-husband Charlie Sheen, 50, may be poised to announce his HIV positive status. The actress has reportedly known for a “number of years,” and ensures that she and her two daughters with the playboy are still HIV-free. Here’s what we know.
A new report came out Nov. 16 claiming that Charlie will announce that he is HIV positive after years of hard partying and promiscuous sex on The Today Show on Nov. 17. Now, attention has turned toward his ex-wife. Denise told Access Hollywood that neither she, nor her two daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, that she shares with Charlie, are infected with the incurable disease. She insists that Charlie contracted HIV after they divorced in Nov. 2006, and they have “not been intimate” since.
Denise says that she’s known about Charlie’s status for a “number of years,” but not all of his partners have been so lucky. Several of the women Charlie has slept with over the years, including his ex-fiancee and other ex-wife, were horrified to learn the news. Former fiancee Scottine Ross said “you exposed me to HIV for a year and a half!” in a video to the ENQUIRER. She claims the couple had unprotected sex because Charlie never told her of his status. Several lawsuits could be in the pipelines if Charlie is proved to have knowingly endangered countless women. If Denise has known for years, he can’t claim to have not been aware of his status. This whole story is horrible, and we wish the best for everyone that may have been affected.
