What a happy day it must’ve been for B-52s’ Kate Pierson, 67, and Monica Coleman! The singer finally tied the knot with her girlfriend of 12 years over the first weekend of August 2015. The lovely couple looked super happy celebrating their marriage on the grassy knolls of Hawaii! Could anyone ask for a more perfect wedding?
The B-52s singer revealed the happy news to her fans with a lovely picture of herself and Monica in their pretty silk wedding gowns with traditional Hawaiian wedding leis via Facebook on August 5. “#itsofficial !” she wrote next to their wedding picture. So precious! The news of their nuptials isn’t surprising. Kate had been sharing various photos leading up to the day of her wedding, expressing her happiness and excitement with the world.
Before their tropical wedding ceremony, the couple enjoyed their time sightseeing in Hawaii. Kate and Monica hung out on the warm beaches of the island and even stopped to see what she called, “Hot Lava!!!” It’s safe to say these two enjoyed their last few days as girlfriend and girlfriend before they became a married couple!
The two lovebirds didn’t celebrate their love all by their lonesomes! Sia Furler, 39, and her husband Erik Anders Lang, were in attendance at the ceremony along with many others. “The wedding was attended by the entire B52s band, Sia Furler and husband Erik Anders Lang were the witnesses,” a rep for Pierson told E! “Sia performed the song she wrote for the couple “Crush Me With You Love” on Pierson’s first solo album Guitars and Microphones and was accompanied by the famous Hawaii music group the Lim Family who serenaded the attendees during the event. Fred Schneider made the best man speech.” That sounds like a perfect wedding!
