Apparently, there was even a bidding war to get the picture. This was just what happened to your beloved mother, Whitney Houston, after her own untimely death at age 48 on Feb. 11, 2012. A photo was taken of Whitney in her casket at her funeral and was sold to the National Enquirer. That just added to your grief and the agony of everyone who loved Whitney. Now, this is even worse. Both the Houston and Brown families — who already have a nastily contentious relationship — are pointing fingers at each other.

Sources have said that your photo was taken at a viewing, which took place the day before your funeral on July 1, in Alpharetta, Georgia. Whitney’s picture was surreptitiously snapped at a private viewing inside the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey — the same funeral home where your casket was held for burial. The Houston side of your family had reportedly already banned the Brown family from visiting you in the hospice where you lay, after they believed that a Brown family member had snapped your deathbed photo. That picture has apparently not been sold yet — thank goodness.
Like Mother, Like Daughter: The Houston-Brown Tragic Photo Trend Continues
Now, despite these precautions, you have been disrespected. It’s unforgivable that someone close to you will profit from your death. In life, you grew up with two parents who loved you but who battled drug addictions and each other. It was hardly a stable, secure environment for a little girl. You were devastated by the death of your mother who had struggled to restart her life and career. You and your mother lived together with close friend Nick Gordon , who later became your boyfriend, in an Atlanta townhouse.
After Whitney’s death, you were unmoored and caught in battled between various relatives, over your inheritance and the direction of your life. You leaned heavily on Nick, but at 22 it didn’t seem like you had found a strong positive direction in your life. You were struggling and very much missing your mother. Since you were found unconscious in your bathtub on Jan. 31, 2015, just like your mother, the warring over your care and then your funeral continued. And now you’ve been betrayed again, by someone who should only have been loving you. Shame on the person who sold the photo of you in your casket!
Do you agree, HollywoodLifers — is that just wrong? Let me know.
