Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family and friends are preparing to say their final goodbyes. Bobbi Kristina’s funeral is being held today, Aug. 1, at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Her loved ones, including celebrities like Tyler Perry, 45, are gathering to pay their respects to the girl who lost her life at just 22 years old.
Bobbi Kristina’s casket arrived at St. James United Methodist Church just a few hours before her funeral. Bobbi’s aunt Pat Houston planned the Sweet 16-themed memorial service for her beloved niece. Her family wants it to be the “Sweet 16 she never had,” Entertainment Tonight reports. We’ve learned EXCLUSIVELY that the idea has divided the already-disputing families. Bobby Brown‘s sister and one of Bobbi Kristina’s aunts, Leolah Brown, was kicked out of the funeral service after screaming at Pat. Despite the memorial service being held in Georgia, Bobbi Kristina will be buried next to her mother, Whitney Houston, in Westfield, New Jersey, on Aug. 3.
Bobby, 46, Cissy Houston, 81, and more of Bobbi Kristina’s family attended her wake at the Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta on July 31. The family looked completely grief-stricken. The Houstons and Browns paid their respects separately.
There’s no word yet whether Bobbi Kristina’s “fiance” Nick Gordon got the OK to attend her funeral. HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY that Nick is determined to say his final goodbye, but most of Bobbi Kristina’s family is hoping he decides to stay away. “Some family members would be very upset if he showed up while others would be OK if he showed up as long as he didn’t make a scene,” our source said.
Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her Georgia home on Jan. 31. She spent nearly seven months in a medically-induced coma. Her family constantly stayed by her bedside and held out hope for a miracle. Bobbi Kristina was moved to hospice on June 24 after her condition continued to deteriorate. She passed away on July 26.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bobbi Kristina’s family and friends during this difficult time.
