Although the confession may seem just as surprising to those who are only used to seeing Miley date men, the truth is that she is also down with women. Throughout her revealing new interview with Paper magazine she never once uses the word “bisexual,” but she makes it very clear that she is sexually attracted to both men and women equally in her own very chill, laid back way.

“I remember telling [my mom] I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, I love them. I love them like I love boys,” Miley shared, revealing that the news was not easy for her mom to take at first. “And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn’t want me to be judged and she didn’t want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any god. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has.”
Miley is extremely lucky to have the support of both Tish and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, especially since she later describes them as “conservative-ass motherf–kers.” Yikes!
Although Miley had opened up to her mom, she was still just 14 years old and the star of Disney’s Hannah Montana — so sharing the news publicly was not an option. Interestingly enough, Miley also told the magazine that she’s had some very serious relationships with women that were never made public. “People never really looked at it, and I never brought it into the spotlight,” she explained.
“I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl,” Miley shared, letting us know that when it comes to the future of her love life there are no restrictions. The “Bangerz” singer just wants to be loved, she says.
