Kim Richards, 50, is slowly but surely returning to her acting roots in a new role for the highly anticipated Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! In an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife.com on the set of the film, Kim dished all about her role in the film — and whether or not we’ll see her get eaten by a shark!
Aside from it’s epic flying sharks and use of chainsaws, what else is Sharknado known for? It’s incredible list of cameos, of course!
“I’m in management at Universal Orlando, and I meet up with Claudia Shepherd (Ryan Newman) and her friend, Jess, and I make sure that they get their VIP passes so they can get to the front of the line,” Kim told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about her role in the franchise’s third film.
HollywoodLife.com spoke to Kim shortly after she “picture wrapped” — meaning she finished filming all of her scenes — on the Universal Studios Theme Park in Orlando, Florida in Feb. 2015. She was so excited about the film, but was tight-lipped when it came to revealing whether or not her character gets taken out by the Sharknado.
“I think I’m gonna wait and let you figure that out,” she said with a laugh when asked whether or not we’ll see her get eaten by a massive shark. “I will tell you, they gave me an option: do I want to get eaten, or do I not? It was a hard choice. I made my decision, we made our decision, and I guess you’ll have to wait and see.”
How could someone pass on getting eaten by a Sharknado? Come on!
Although HollywoodLife.com only witnessed Kim working with WWE wrestler Chris Jericho, both Tara Reid and Ian Ziering were also on set that day. Kim later told us how much she enjoyed working with them, and how great the entire Sharknado 3 experience has been.
“I have to say that coming on board for ‘Sharknado 3’ is definitely something I’ve enjoyed. The entire cast and crew has been an amazing experience for me. It’s so fun!”
However, Kim didn’t know what Sharknado was before she signed on for the film. Eek!
“When they asked me I started asking around, ‘What is Sharknado?’ I hadn’t seen it. They were like, ‘Sharknado! Oh my gosh, are you thinking about doing Sharknado?'” Kim explained EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “And I said well, you know, I’m just asking the question. And everyone was like, ‘Oh my gosh, you have to do it. If you get the opportunity to do Sharknado, you have to do it.'”
We can’t wait to see Kim in action when Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! airs on SyFy on Wednesday July 22 at 9/8c!
