“Welcome to New York,” as Taylor Swift would say to Kate Middleton and Prince William! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived to the city that never sleeps on Dec. 7, and headed straight to the The Carlyle hotel to prep for the rest of their visit. Sadly, the couple left little Prince George behind in London for their short trip, but they have an action-packed three days ahead of them!
Americans went wild for Kate and Prince William as they stepped out of their car and onto the New York City streets for the first time, at around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 7.
Kate, wearing a sophisticated plum-colored coat, which was created exclusively for her by Séraphine to help keep her and the little prince or princess warm, waved to fans as she headed into the The Carlyle hotel.
After they settle in to their hotel, William and Kate will head to dinner for fundraisers of their Royal Foundation at the home of Sir Martin Sorrell, People reports.
Prince William will trek to Washington D.C. on Dec. 8 to meet President Obama, while Kate will stay in New York and visit a child development center in Harlem. The future King of England will return to New York, where the couple will enjoy their first NBA game at the Barclays Center!
Their USA trip will conclude on Dec. 9. William and Kate will attend a lavish gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to support St. Andrews college in Scotland, where they first met!
The royal couple will be booked with official business during their short trip, but Kate really wants to find time to go sightseeing since this is her first time in New York! According to a source from People, “Kate would like to see the Statue of Liberty or the Rockettes while she is here.”
Those are two excellent choices, Kate! We really hope she finds time to see everything she wants to see — and maybe even do a little shopping for her little bun in the oven!
