‘RHOA’ Recap: Apollo Nida & Phaedra Parks Fight Over The Kids
Apollo was sentenced to eight years in jail on the Season 7 premiere, prompting his wife to take the kids and leave. On the Nov. 16 episode, not much has changed. Phaedra is far from having a change of heart, when it comes to Apollo’s visitation time with the kids.
“My goal is to be a parent, and as a parent, it is my job to protect my boys and make sure that they are normal because I am not raising any Dustin Diamond, Macaulay Culkin or Gary Coleman. I am raising some strong black men, and that’s what they will be,” she says. “Apollo has basically broken our family.”
Whether or not you agree with Phaedra abandoning Apollo, you’ve gotta admit, she gets some kudos for those references.
Mama Joyce Is Back In The House…Again
Newlyweds Kandi Burruss and Todd are fighting over Mama Joyce, again. (What? Like you didn’t think she’d be back this season?!)
Kandi tells Todd that she’s going to buy her mother another new home because she was unhappy with the last house, and she wants her mom to be happy. (What? You don’t buy your mom a mansion when she’s mad at you?)
“She wasn’t happy with us getting married. When is she going to be happy?” Todd points out, pulling an Oprah. “You get a house! You get a house!” (Well played, Todd.)
In the end, Kandi wins — in other words, Mama Joyce gets the house — but if you know this threesome, even the biggest home in the world won’t resolve the drama, and for some reason, Kandi thinks it’s a good idea to move her mom down the street from them. Before Kandi even signs the paperwork, big mama voices her opinions about kids and let’s just say, she dreamt Todd has a vasectomy. Guess what? He didn’t.
Onto the next problem: Kandi urges her mom to apologize to Todd’s mom because, you know, she called his son a pimp and a whore. Well, Joyce doesn’t quite see it that way. “I deserve an apology and I will accept it because she escaped a butt-whooping”
‘Really B*tch?!’
Kenya still isn’t over the reunion fight with Porsha Williams. She’s convinced by her friend that she needs to put a new project on her plate so she settles on producing music. Her first hit? “Really B*tch?!” (That’s not a question, it’s actually the name of her test song.)
Here’s a sample of her first lyrics: “You tried it. Tried to pull my hair. I don’t care. Mine is real. You’re wearing a wig. Let me pull your hair. Be on the floor. Mop the floor with that wig. Really b*tch? Really b*tch? Really b*tch?”

Meet The New Housewife: Claudia Jordan
All of the housewives go to Cynthia Bailey‘s party to celebrate her Ebony magazine shoot — well, not all the housewives. NeNe and Phaedra didn’t make an appearance. “People who were once friends are no longer friends, people who were enemies are now besties,” Kandi points out. “It’s just crazy!”
However, there’s a newbie in Atlanta: Claudia Jordan! Yes, that’s the new housewife.
Claudia is a longtime friend of Kenya…and she works with Porsha. Of course, Kenya doesn’t want to even utter her name at the event, but Kandi voices her opinion loud and clear — Kenya shouldn’t have called the cops on Porsha, after their reunion brawl. Kenya’s reaction? “I didn’t come her to talk about that Laila Ali wannabe!”
Alright, enough with the one-liners tonight. (Though they are killin’ it — Gary Coleman? Dustin Diamond? Laila Ali?? Let’s get to the real drama. Apollo shows up!
Kenya’s less than pleased to see Phaedra’s jail birdy, but he’s the one who’s really sounding off on his estranged wife who, apparently, is ready to make a run for it. “She wears a Jordan on one foot and a Louboutin on the other.”
Kandi supports Phaedra, in her absence, and tells Apollo that he really let her down. “I love you, as a friend, but you repeated the cycle of a lot of black men.” Ouch.
Apollo Admits He Lied About Kenya Offering Him ‘Fellatio’
Before Kenya ditches the party, Apollo asks to chat with her. In case you haven’t gotten it, at this point, Kenya is not on Team Nida or Team Parks. “Phaedra knows she has a sneaky m***** f***** in her bed. She got him from prison three days after he stepped out. Where did you think that train was going?”
Rawr! Anyway, Apollo apologizes to Kenya for his choice words in the past. He wants to clear his name and clear his head, before he goes behind bars. Yeah, that doesn’t go too well because he’s a big, fat liar.
“I offered you an apology, I said I wanted to apologize,” Apollo tells Kenya.” I should not have told my wife that you offered me fellatio.”
Whoa! What?! So Apollo’s been lying all along? Yep. He admits to lying about all of it. ALL of it. Who’s the “head doctor” now?! (Sorry, had to do it.)
Kenya feels “vindicated” by Apollo and his lies, but she says she won’t be over it until Phaedra apologizes for believing she was having an affair with her husband for all of these years. “What she tried to do is take me down, one whore at a time.”
Will we finally see a reconciliation between Kenya & Phaedra? Until next week…
