Stephen Collins: His ‘7th Heaven’ Wife & Other Co-Stars Defend Him
In the midst of the child molestation allegations against Stephen Collins, his ‘7th Heaven’ co-stars, including his former TV wife, are standing by the actor’s side.
Stephen Collins, 67, allegedly admitted to sexually molesting underage girls in a tape released on Oct. 7, but now his former television co-stars Catherine Hicks and Kyle Searles have publicly come to the actor’s defense. They both praised the actor today, calling him a “good guy” and a “likable, genuine” person.
‘7th Heaven’ Cast On Stephen Collins’ Alleged Molestation: Co-Stars Defend Actor
Stephen’s most famous for his role as the picture-perfect minister on TV show 7th Heaven, and now his TV wife Catherine Hicks and another former co-star have spoken up about the allegations against the actor.

TMZ cameras caught up with Catherine while she was walking in a parking garage She said this about Stephen:
“I feel … I have really nothing to say, nothing to say. I have nothing to hide. Stephen’s a good guy in my opinion.” When asked if she had any inclination that these allegations would come out, she said, “No, gosh, no. I have no idea, I swear. Thank you.”
Kyle Searles, who played Mac on 7th Heaven show from 2004-2007, called into TMZ Live to talk about Stephen.
“That wasn’t who I remembered at all. Not in the least bit. I don’t really know everything that’s going on right now, obviously, all I can do is tell you about who he was whenever I worked with him,” Kyle explained.
“I never once had any type of encounter where he was maybe a little inappropriate. No one in the cast had ever come to me, nor was it ever an issue.” Kyle also said, “Stephen was somebody that I looked up to” and “Stephen was by far the most likable, influential, genuine person that I ever had the pleasure of working with.”
He also explained that Stephen “was definitely a father figure to everyone on set.”
