Christy Mack, 23, is still recovering after she was assaulted on Aug. 8, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, MMA fighter War Machine, 32. As she continues down the road to recovery, two special animals tried to help by sending their “mom” Christy very sweet and touching messages.
Christy is getting support from around the world after her attack — and that includes her dogs. Christy shared a side-by-side photo of two dogs on Twitter on Aug. 16. Each dog had a note around the neck. Each note said, “Hi Mom! Love u,” and then the dog’s name. Their names are Swayzee and Cleo.
Christy captioned the photo with: “Just received a wonderful message from my babies, I can’t wait to see my little sugars again.”
Christy is a big dog lover, specifically of the pitbull breed. Back in July 2012, Christy told Dirty Diablos about her love of pitbulls. “I love puppies. I like pitbulls a lot. I have two to five in my house at any given time. Some of them are mixes, most of them are pure breds,” she said.
We think it’s SO wonderful that Christy’s finding happiness and healing in her precious fur babies.
Christy is currently recovering from severe injuries including 18 broken bones in her face, a fractured rib and a ruptured liver. A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Harrison H. Lee, has generously offered to help Christy with facial reconstruction.
More than a week after Christy was attacked, Dr. Lee volunteered his services, TMZ first reported. HollywoodLife.com confirmed that Dr. Lee sent out his offer letter to Christy and has not heard back.
While Christy continues to heal, War Machine has been found and arrested.
We are happy to hear that Christy can find happiness in her animals as she recovers from this attack. If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233; operators are standing by 24/7.
