Ariana Grande Reveals Painful Estrangement From Her Father
Ariana shockingly reveals in the August issue of ‘Seventeen,’ that she and her dad, Edward Butera, are estranged! But wait, they just hung out two weeks ago! HollywoodLifers, what is going on here?
Ariana Grande tells Seventeen that the toughest thing she’s ever had to deal with is “falling out of touch” with her dad, Edward Butera. But we thought she and her 55-year-old dad got along, he’s constantly tweeting sweet things and pics of her!
Ariana Grande & Edward Butera — Are They Estranged?
Ariana, 21, says that in 2013, she and her dad had a falling out and she calls it “private.” But it looks like she and her dad may have figured out their difference since she did this interview!
“Falling out of touch with my dad. It’s private, but it happened last year,” she said. “It took me so long to be okay with it. The thing that got me there was embracing the fact that that I am made up of half my dad, and a lot of my traits come from him. So much of me comes from my father, and for so long, I didn’t like that about myself. I had to accept that it’s okay not to get along with somebody and still love them.”

But this is where we get a little confused. Unless Ariana was simply talking about a specific time where she and her dad didn’t talk, she and her dad have hung out a bunch together in the recent weeks.
Edward tweeted on July 16: “So I am driving with my daughter and her song comes on the radio…and she is singing for me…how cool is that?????”
That’s just one of many things he tweets about Ariana, on July 11, he posted: “Was collaborating with My daughter and her great team last night….exciting!!!”
