Apparently Shia LaBeouf, 28, was causing trouble even before police escorted him out of Studio 54 in handcuffs on June 26. The former Transformers star was spotted chasing a homeless man around the streets of New York City, mere hours before his shocking arrest during a performance of Cabaret at Studio 54.
Before attending the Broadway show that stars Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming, Shia confronted a transient man on the streets, apparently because he thought the man had stolen his hat, an eyewitness tells TMZ.
Shia, who looked disheveled in a holey blue T-shirt and jeans, then chased the man around the street in what appeared to be an attempt to get the hat back.
He “was acting as if he knew the guy, but Shia seemed ‘whacked out’ and was making no sense,” the eyewitness tells TMZ, adding that the actor repeatedly told the homeless man, “It’s me, Shia.” So disturbing!
Take Our PollAs HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Shia was arrested on June 26 for allegedly smoking marijuana in the middle of a performance of Caberet at Studio 54 in New York City. Despite causing a scene and appearing drunk, police said Shia refused to leave the theatre, so they were forced to remove him in handcuffs.
Shia was reportedly charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of harassment and criminal trespassing.
