“OMG i guess i just sang for the DNC and, er, THE PRESIDENT,” Sia excitedly tweeted after performing at the Democratic National Committee’s annual LGBT Gala in New York City on June 17. The 38-year-old Aussie singer may have been playing the “How did I get here?” card after the concert, but if anyone’s earned the spotlight — it’s her. Find out more about the underrated, unbelievably talented singer-songwriter below.
1. Sia, AKA “Hit-Maker”
Sia is an incredible singer, but she may actually be an even more talented songwriter. So many massive pop stars can thank Sia for their hits — she penned Rihanna‘s “Diamonds,” Beyonce‘s “Pretty Hurts,” Lea Michele‘s “Cannonball,” and David Guetta‘s “Titanium,” just to name a few. That’s a freaking crazy resume.
2. Sia Put Everyone Six Feet Under
Sia meandered under the radar as the lead singer of Zero 7 for some time in the early 2000s, but everyone was introduced to her voice in 2005 when her epic song “Breathe Me” was featured in the last scene of the massive HBO hit show, Six Feet Under.
3. The Perfect Representative For LGBT
It’s not a coincidence that Sia ended up performing at the LGBT Gala on June 17. Sia herself came out as bisexual in August 2013, tweeting, “I’m queer. I don’t really identify as a lesbian because I’ve dated predominantly men. But I’ve certainly dated women.”
4. Speaking Of Dating…
Sia got engaged to filmmaker Erik Anders in January. Sia once again revealed the news on Twitter — this one, she’s so transparent! — by posting a picture of her and Erik in which she was rocking a pretty, understated ring. “That’s an engagement ring folks,” she quipped.
5. She’s JUST Friends With Robert Pattinson
After R-Patz and Sia were photographed out together in Aug. 2013, fans speculated that Rob had moved on from Kristen Stewart with the singer. But she shut that down quickly with a vulgar tweet:
As much as I love dick, I’m not dating robert pattinson. Can i go back to being completely irrelevant now?

No you can’t, Sia!? You’re huge now whether you like it or not — even the president knows your name! So HollywoodLifers, are you a Sia fan? Let us know!
