The Originals only has one episode left until the finale and it is going to be game-changing. On the April 29 episode, Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin) life was in major danger, Father Kieran (Todd Stashwick) was laid to rest and one of the most infamous characters made his way back from the dead! Read on for all the latest supernatural happenings in New Orleans!
At first, we thought the episode was taking place at Father Kieran’s funeral. Cami (Leah Pipes) looked heartbroken and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) arrived and sweetly kissed Cami on the cheek. Everything seemed OK until Klaus opened up the coffin to find a baby inside. Wait, was it his baby? Before there was time to think, Mikael (Sebastian Roché) came out of nowhere and stabbed him in the chest. Then, Klaus woke up.
Klaus headed straight to the bar to drink away his nightmares. Cami found him and he revealed his dreams about Mikael and his impending fatherhood. Cami was surprised to hear Klaus finally acknowledge that he was going to be a dad. Klaus said he’d had experience in the area, in regards to Marcel (Charles Michael Davis).
Flashback to when Klaus first met Marcel. Klaus wanted Marcel’s freedom granted from his slaveowner. Marcel’s master was also his father and said he wasn’t worth anything. Klaus rescued him and told Marcel that family was more than blood. He could choose his family.
Take Our PollBack in present day, Cami was not handling her uncle’s death well. When she walked away to catch some air, Francesca (Peta Sergeant) found her and asked about Kieran’s necklace. She wanted the key. (Get in line, sista.)
Cami found out that Marcel knew about the key and was pissed about him not telling her. Marcel said the key was meant to be used against the supernatural. Marcel didn’t question the key’s uses when Father Kieran told him about it, he just let it be. Basically, the key opens Pandora’s box. Cami wanted to know what it opened, but even Marcel didn’t have the answer to that.
Then, Cami realized she knew what the key unlocked. She went to Sean’s (Matt Kabus) burial site and found the box the key unlocked. At first, Marcel thought someone else had gotten to the box first since it was empty, but Cami didn’t think so. There was a code on the box and Cami knew what it meant!
Klaus let it slip to Elijah that he had been dreaming of Mikael. This was concerning to Elijah since he was dreaming of him too. Elijah believed Genevieve (Elyse Levesque) was the culprit of the their nightmares. Klaus said there was no better way to kick off peace than with a murder! (Watch out, Genevieve!)
When Klaus and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) confronted her, Genevieve claimed she knew nothing. However, her witches weren’t so innocent. Davina (Danielle Campbell) tried a seance and Mikael touched her shoulder! After a quick pow-wow with his Bennett witch in Mystic Falls, Klaus learned that the Other Side wasn’t interested in dying. Mikael was back and he wasn’t going to go lightly.
During the funeral celebration, Elijah, Hayley and Klaus all walked together to discuss their current predicaments. Hayley wanted to know if the bombing was about her and Klaus said of course it was. He still wanted her to move to the compound and Hayley laughed that after one bad dream Klaus suddenly wanted to be a good dad. Klaus was certain he wasn’t going to be like his father to his child. Hayley quickly corrected him: “She not your child, she’s ours.”
Hayley caught up with Cami and wanted to know about Francesca, who she thought had something to do with the bombing. Cami told her that if she found out anything from Francesca that she would let her know. As Hayley walked away, she started coughing up blood and passed out. Klaus, Elijah and Genevieve all ran to her side. Genevieve said she could do a spell to save her. They were working on dwindling time, especially since Elijah could only hear the baby’s heartbeat. Hayley woke up in a dream to find Mikael standing over her!
Genevieve cast the spell and Klaus fed her blood, but nothing was working. At first, Hayley thought she was dead, but she realized that Mikael wouldn’t be trying to kill her if she was. Mikael was disgusted at the fact that Klaus was having a child and further increased our hatred for him by calling Klaus “filth” and a “weakness.” Hayley got feisty and began to fight Mikael. She told Mikael that her daughter would have one advantage over Klaus — she would never know Mikael!
Klaus was very concerned about his unborn child. “I’ll rip it out of her myself,” he said. “I won’t lose that baby.” Elijah said he wouldn’t lose either of them. Hayley woke up and revealed she saw Mikael. After that, Klaus was adamant about Hayley moving in with him. Hayley agreed, but wanted her own terms. She wanted to know that Klaus wasn’t going to take their daughter away from her. Klaus, who showed off his softer side, presented Hayley with the baby’s nursery. “Our daughter should be raised by her family,” he said.
Klaus also wanted to know what Mikael had said to Hayley. Hayley wondered why Klaus referred to him as his father, even though he wasn’t. “He’s done damage only a father could do,” he said. Hayley told Klaus that Mikael said nothing true to her. (Aw!)
Genevieve let Elijah know that the baby was going to be fine. Elijah thanked her for her help, however he couldn’t forgive her for forcing Rebekah (Claire Holt) away from her family. He agreed to lighten up only if Genevieve helped prevent Hayley from turning after the baby’s birth. The key to that was in the grimoire, which was Genevieve ultimate goal all along.
When Genevieve returned to the witches, she berated Monique (Yasmine Al Bustami) for messing with Hayley. The baby couldn’t die now, she was too important. The baby was part witch and they needed her magic to fuel the community. She had to be born first, then she could die, Genevieve said. Later, Genevieve pleaded with the ancestors to not make her kill the baby. Upon her request, she began crying tears of blood. Genevieve apologized and said she would do whatever they asked.
After the exhausting day, Klaus saw Marcel and pondered over the past. Back in the 1800s, Marcel wanted all the slaves on his father’s plantation to be free, just like him. His father wondered if Klaus had turned him yet. When he said no, his father shot him. Klaus was ready to heal him, but Marcel had other ideas. He wanted Klaus to turn him. Klaus tried to persuade him against the idea, saying it would “rob you of all that makes you good.” However, Marcel remembered Klaus’s words about family and convinced Klaus to turn him. In the present day, Marcel was ready to head back across the river. Klaus wasn’t ready to forgive him for bringing Mikael back all those years ago. Marcel admitted that Klaus didn’t fail him. “You raised me,” Marcel said. “You taught me everything that I know. You taught me that I can’t afford to be weak, when my enemies are stronger.” He vowed to fight until he was dead and Klaus was proud of that.
Elijah found Hayley in the nursery and addressed how frightened he was about her almost dying. He started to leave, but Hayley told him not to go. They passionately kissed and then Elijah disappeared. (What a tease!)
At the witches layer, Davina heard someone in the distance. She thought it was Tim, but it was Mikael! He apologized for Klaus’s actions and told Davina that he was the only one who could get rid of Klaus forever. All she had to do was one thing — bring him back to life!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of tonight’s The Originals? Will Davina bring Mikael back? Is Genevieve dead? What does Cami know? Will Klaus and Marcel ever find peace with each other? Let us know your thoughts!
