Paul Walker’s Death: Porsche Issued Memo About Dangers Of Carrera GT
This story is just getting more and more tragic. The car that Paul and Roger crashed on Nov. 30 was ridiculously powerful and not very safe, according to new documents released by Porsche.
Investigation is still underway to find out what caused the crash that took Paul Walker and Roger Rodas‘ life. However, it could have been a glitch in the car. In 2004, right before the Porsche Carrera GT went on sale, the company released a memo with a warning about the car, saying it was the closest thing to a racecar they’d ever come out with, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Paul Walker’s Porsche Was ‘Close To A Racecar’
In the memo, the company warned just how powerful the $500,000 Carrera GT was. It read, “The Carrera GT is as close to a racecar as we will ever get.”

However, besides being super fast, it also means it’s unsafe, just as a racecar is.
“I think it is very important that the man who has gone to technical training, at least is consulted before anyone drives this vehicle,” the memo read. While Roger was an experienced driver, that may not have been a problem. But the car itself couldn’t take any road damage, according to the memo.
Porsche Carrera GT: It Can’t Go Over A Foster Beer Can
“The car cannot go over a speed bump without damage to the three under panels… Believe me, this vehicle cannot drive over a Foster Beer can that is lying on its side. It will crush the can and damage the carbon fiber under the panels,” the memo said.
Adding that the car has “all the disadvantages of racecar,” this includes the inability to go over seam heights and pot holes.
