Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough are not going to be getting hot and heavy anymore! The two stars have reportedly decided to stop dating, and it’s not because they aren’t interested in each other.
Nina & Derek — Why They Broke Up
Nina, 24, and Derek, 28, met through his sister Julianne Hough. It seemed like this was a perfect rebound from her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, but it has ended in a break up.
“The distance was too much to handle,” an insider tells Us Weekly. “[Nina] was hanging a lot with Derek’s sister Julianne. Then she fell for him.”
Keep in mind, Nina lives in Atlanta, GA., where she is shooting Vampire Diaries. Meanwhile, Derek is on Dancing With The Stars in LA, so it makes sense that they would miss each other!
“He said he hasn’t felt this way for a girl in a long time … Everyone approves!” the source told Us Weekly. “Julianne understands — there are no hard feelings.”

Derek and Nina were first photographed together trying to avoid photographers on Oct. 5, outside of the Roosevelt Hotel in LA.
It was earlier in the night that they went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. Selena Gomez was also there when they were partying together!
