A.N.T Farm star China Anne McClain chatted with HollywoodLife.com about her experiences on the set of her new movie, which includes the first time she crossed paths with teen heartthrob Taylor Lautner! Keep reading for more on our exclusive interview with China!
China Anne McClain & ‘Grown Ups 2’ — Starstruck When Meeting Taylor Lautner
Staring in Grown Ups 2 was a very exciting experience for China, who plays Chirs Rock‘s daughter. The young star explains how her character has evolved since the first film.
“Charlotte has a bigger role in this one because all of the guys move into the same neighborhood, so they are focussing on more individual stories. My character is really breaking out of the box in this one, she was really shy in the first movie but she is actually singing in this one!”
China also loved acting alongside the very hysterical Chris Rock! She said working with him was “really fun because he is a really funny guy and he has just got even nicer [since the first movie].”
We even found out that he guest starred on her Disney Channel show, ANT Farm! “It feels like my turf over there, so it was really cool having him walk on set and new to everything.”
When talking about the upcoming episodes of ANT Farm, China explained that there will “definitely more romance, there is a bit more romance since the ants are getting older — not too much because my dad is always on set!”
Speaking of romance, we asked China the question everyone is dying to know the answer to! How was it working with Taylor Lautner? She told us that the first time she met him was at a table read and she was not anticipating seeing him before walking into the room. She went on to tell us how starstruck she felt and how she was actually quite nervous since she was going to be singing at the table read! We dont blame you, China! We would have been nervous too!
