From what I was able to gather, Scott and Isaac (Daniel Sharman) finally faced off against Deucalion (Gideon Emery) and the rest of the Alpha pack — but things didn’t go exactly according to any of their plans. In fact, once the dust had settled, Derek and Ennis (Brian Patrick Wade) both found themselves near-death. Only for Ennis, it stuck.
And if there was any doubt about Ennis’ demise — you know, aside from the fact that MTV’s mid-episode commercial totally spoiled his death — our suspicions were confirmed when Deucalion literally tracked down Ennis’ body and absorbed what was left of his powers… by squishing his head! It was super gross.
So what’s really going on? A conversation between Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Lydia (Holland Roden) towards the end of the episode shed a little light on the situation, as we learned that in “some ancient cultures,” warriors are sacrifice before battle.
But what major battle is coming? And who is sacrificing the Alphas?!
Family Matters
One of the most surprising parts of this week’s episode was seeing Peter (Ian Bohen) and Cora (Adelaide Kane) working together to figure out which of the wolves ended up on the veterinarian table. Seriously, was I the only one shocked to see them hunting as a team? Werewolf families are not supposed to get along on this show.
Love Triangle? Not So Much
We’ve all seen the growing triangle between Scott, Allison (Crystal Reed) and Isaac — but much to my delight, it seems like Allison and Scott’s old flame is still burning bright. Don’t even pretend like you didn’t feel some feelings as she sewed up his wound and nursed him back to health. And that ‘training’ scene at the beginning of the episode? Come on, these two are forever.
Of course, you also would have known the love triangle was a bust had you read executive producer Jeff Davis‘ recent Tumblr Q&A. When a fan asked about the triangle, he had this to say:
I’m not a fan of love triangles actually. I know people love them, but I wanted the Allison, Isaac and Scott situation to take a different direction. Let me know what you think after this twelve is done!
So, yeah, the love triangle is officially dead.
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of this week’s episode? Are you relieved to know that Scott and Allison have a future? And who’s really behind these murders? Drop a comment below with your best theories!
