Kate Middleton, 31, had a rough first trimester when she was hospitalized with an extreme morning sickness known as hyperemesis gravidarum. But with the royal baby due in mid-July, the Duchess has taken every precaution to make sure she’s been as healthy as possible throughout all nine months of pregnancy.
While Kate was extremely active before she became pregnant, she had to tone down her exercise regimen and opt for more low-impact forms of activity. The Duchess of Cambridge traded in her runs and weight lifting for morning walks with her dog Lupo, and prenatal yoga. A palace aide tells Us Weekly:
She had a yoga instructor visit her at Kensington Palace once a week.
Prince William‘s wife also made sure to keep her diet as healthy and fresh as possible, and enjoyed meals of codfish, chicken or turkey, according to the magazine. She also snacked on dried fruit and nuts. “She’s never been an unhealthy eater,” a friend tells Us.
Kate’s royal beauty regimen used to include regular spray tans — she had a beautician come to Kensington Palace to apply St. Tropez tanner before events — but she stopped the routine during her first trimester. Even though the dangers of spray tan fumes (especially for pregnant women) are still being studied, Kate wanted to be extra careful!
The coffee-loving Duchess also had to give up her favorite form of caffeine — but not entirely. She traded in her daily coffee to Starbucks decaf, and also drank tea. Kate “did not like the idea of not drinking coffee,” a palace insider tells Us.
We love that Kate has been extra healthy and safe throughout her pregnancy! What do YOU think of Kate’s healthy pregnancy habits, HollyMoms?
