Nina Dobrev’s Pink Highlights In ‘Vampire Diaries’ — Get The Look

Elena, played by Nina Dobrev, got pink highlights in the March 21 episode of ‘Vampire Diaries’ and we got a celeb stylist to tell HollywoodLife.com readers EXCLUSIVELY how you can get the look!

Elena (Nina Dobrev) traveled to New York with Damon in the March 21 episode of The Vampire Diaries and indulged in a NYC beauty treatment — getting fun, colored highlights! We spoke to Celebrity Colorist Meaghan Frayne of Angelo David Salon in New York City to explain how to get Elena’s look!

Elena’s Pink Hair On ‘Vampire Diaries’ — Get The Look

Elena’s brown hair has light brown highlights, so that is the first step.

“Nina’s base color is a Level 4 brown so you want to create dimension throughout the hair. Start with creating vertical panels of a Level 6 or 7 brown (which is lighter) highlights around the head,” Meaghan tells us.

Since most people can’t have bright pink streaks in their hair for very long, Meaghan recommends coloring hair extensions to the exact customized color you want. Then, it’s easy to remove them at any time without cutting off all of your hair!

“Once the brown highlights have set, and you don’t feel like you can commit to more color, use a few of Angelo’s Couture Links to achieve that magenta color. By dying the extensions, you can create a great accent piece! If you’re ready and willing, you can ask your colorist to dye your hair magenta as well!”

“After coloring, prepare the hair for blowdrying. Create a side part then slowly create beautiful soft waves with a round brush. Break the waves with your fingers then finish the look with a medium hold hairspray.”

Would you ever get colorful highlights, HollywoodLifers?
